SSPC Profile
Sino-Swed Pharmaceutical Corp, Ltd. (SSPC) is the first joint venture between China and Sweden. The joint venture contract was signed in 1982 and the company started commercial production in 1987. So far, the company has a registered capital of $27.90 million and a total investment of $45.10 million. In 1999, the foreign- held shares of SSPC were transferred to Fresenius Group from Germany. Hence China National Pharmaceutical Group Corporation, the Chinese shareholder of SSPC, holds 49% of total shares while the rest 51% are held by Fresenius Kabi, the foreign shareholder of SSPC. As the first professional company in China specializing in clinical nutrition, SSPC filled a gap at home with its nutrition products.
